Privacy
Chapel sets no cookies of its own. It has no accounts, and its pages run no analytics, advertising or tracking scripts.
What your browser keeps
A few things stay in this browser’s storage (localStorage), so the site remembers them next time. They stay in this browser: the site sends them nowhere.
chapel-player- The chapter you are listening to, its voice and the time reached, so that “Resume” can take you back. Written while you listen; “Close player” removes it.
chapel-voice- The voice you chose for each translation.
chapel-speed- The playback speed, when you chose another than the normal one.
chapel-text- Your text settings in Aa: text size, Reading mode, footnotes, words of Jesus in red, the “/” shortcut and Follow text.
chapel-theme- Day or Night, when you chose one in Aa; Auto removes it.
To remove them, clear this site’s data in your browser’s settings.
What your browser asks for
Pages, scripts, fonts and pictures come from chapelbible.com only. The recordings come from media.chapelbible.com, Chapel’s address for media files.
As with any website, the servers that answer your browser receive its IP address and what it sends with each request, such as the page asked for and the name of the browser. These servers are the host’s, Cloudflare, Inc. (Legal notice). From these requests, the host gives Chapel Labs SAS overall figures, such as the number of visits and the countries they come from. These figures do not say who you are.
If the host has to check that a visit comes from a person, for the site’s security, it may set cookies for that check only.
Your data and your rights
- Who is responsible
- Chapel Labs SAS, 173 rue de Courcelles, 75017 Paris, France.
- What, and why
- Your IP address and the details of each request: to send you the pages and files you ask for, to keep the site secure, and to count its visits overall.
- Legal basis
- The legitimate interest of Chapel Labs SAS in running the site (GDPR, article 6(1)(f)).
- Must you give it?
- No law or contract requires it. But your browser sends its IP address with each request: without it, the site cannot send you its pages and files.
- Who receives them
- The host, Cloudflare, Inc., which handles them on behalf of Chapel Labs SAS. It also uses some of them for its own purposes, such as protecting its network: see its privacy policy (opens in a new tab). It is based in the United States: the transfer relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, in which it takes part, or else on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.
- How long
- Chapel Labs SAS keeps no record of requests itself. The host keeps them only as long as it needs them to deliver and protect the site; it publishes no fixed duration (see its privacy policy).
- If you write to us
- Chapel Labs SAS uses your address and your message only to answer you, for its legitimate interest in answering. The mailbox is provided by OVH SAS. Messages are kept for one year after the last reply.
- Your rights
- You can ask to see, correct or erase the data about you, or to limit its use. Write to contact@
